The description and pictures were lacking in the posting but the watch looked and functioned great upon arrival. It was a vintage watch, and they did not list if it had been recently serviced and only had 1 picture. The watch was great, so don't be skeptical if the posting does not have a lot of information.

My watch was delivered with undeclared oxidation on the dial. After a few back and forth trips the watch was repaired but not to a condition that was satisfactory to me. The repair process was sloppy and left me feeling disappointed that such an expensive piece has been opened more times than necessary by less than qualified people. I would have to send the piece to the manufacturer to get it sorted to the standard I expect at this price.

I only left 3 stars because the Rolex day date I bought arrived non-functional. I had to send back 3 times over a span of 2 months and they ultimately had to give me a refund because the watch was not repairable according to their watch maker. Very frustrating experience. However, Josh and his staff were very responsive with communications and tried to make the deal right. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with them again.

Before buying from Tarrytown Jewelers please consider this review. It will be factual and fair-minded. 5 stars for “shipping/packaging”: It was well packaged and doubled boxed. I would highly suggest being home when the watch is expected to be delivered. This packages requires a signature but my camera recorded the delivery guy simply leaving it at my doorstop without ringing the doorbell or knocking to see if someone was home to sign. This is not a reflection of the seller but it is worth noting if you are going to buy any item of high price ensure you are home. 2 stars for “accuracy of description of the item”: There were two major concerns here that I did address with the seller. The first is that one of the primary pictures showed the watch with box and papers. When the watch arrived all the papers were not included and the seller explained that it was a mistake including some of the papers as the original owner later asked for them back due to them containing sensitive data. I did find it odd that the original owner sold a watch and papers, Tarrytown then had time to professionally take pictures with all papers, then later the owner asked for them back and Tarrytown forgot that they listed a primary imagine containing items that they had to return. Regardless of how it all happened, a tremendous buying point for me was the advertisement that the watch came with how it was advertised. My “price offer” of the watch also was with this in consideration. So in this aspect, I paid a specific price for something that was not as advertised regardless of the reasons why. The part that gets worse is the condition of the watch being listed as “very good”. According to Chrono24, “very good” means “worn with little to no signs of wear”. When I read that description, it means to me all aspects of the watch, not some of it or parts of it, but all of it. To be as fair as possible, the viewable part of the watch is in very good condition and all parts of the watch function as they should. The problem is noted when I took off the bracelet for inspection of the serial numbers. The serial numbers are so scratched up and deteriorated from the end link scratching it, it is almost unreadable. Yes, using proper lighting and angling techniques you can make it out but it is almost eligible. This was not disclosed by the seller and once again, I submitted a “price offer” based upon how I thought the watch was and not knowing this information. Regardless of this sometimes happening to this model watch or not, it was not disclosed to me prior to purchase. 5 stars for “communication”: The seller responded in an appropriate time, normally in a day or two. Tarrytown did not offer any mediation or price adjustments to the issues I address. I feel my concerns were honest and legitimate and something most people would question. If you buy from Tarrytown please ensure you ask questions and seek clarification on any concerns you have prior to purchase. Chris

The strap is defective with no loops to secure it. I had to buy a new strap to replace the one that came with the watch. Watch is in great condition though.

The price is reasonable. Don’t expect them to reply quick and warm. At least they do reply. The watch is okay. It says brand new but I found two hairlines on the waist. It is fine giving the price. In general the whole experience is okay only because of the price

FedEx shipping was an awful experience due to their misinformative customer services. This wasn't a problem at the dealer's end.
